Material Required:
1. Cardboard Sheet: Keep at least one big cardboard sheet ready for preparing the cardboard bits (cutouts) required for this activity
2. Mobile Phone Stand: For placing the cardboard sheet cutouts (bits) with numbers into the slot contained in it for reference purposes.
3. White Colored Trough: For dropping pulses or cereals of the color yellow into it for this activity.
4. Whiteboard Markers: For writing different numbers on the various cardboard sheet cutouts (bits)
The Procedure for Preparing:
1. Prepare the cardboard cutouts –
Keep a cardboard sheet ready for this activity that should be cut into huge cutouts that are big enough to accommodate a number on each of them.
2. Set up a trough containing cereals –
Add some cereals or pulses to a white colored trough for use as a base for this activity
3. Lay the main groundwork for the activity –
Set up a wooden mobile stand with a huge slot in it in front of the trough in which you should insert the cardboard cutouts bearing different numbers each time you want your children to try writing a new number that is displayed on each of them. Let your children perform the activity by running their fingers through the cereals or pulses contained in the trough to draw each of the numbers manually.
4. Ask your children to participate –
Place every cardboard cutout bearing one number each, one at a time, inside the slot provided on the wooden mobile phone stand in front of the trough. Let your children draw the number they see on each of the cardboard cutouts by running their fingers through the cereals or pulses contained in the white trough.
5. Review and Repeat –
When your children complete one round of the activity, encourage them to perform the activity yet again till you are certain that they have mastered it completely.
