Emojis fascinate children and can help them learn emotions easily as they grow up. Expect their intelligence quotient to improve when they take part in this dice game activity:
Suitable for:
This activity is designed for children above one year of age, as they can learn to recognize emotions and match them with the primary emotion that the emoji dice reveals when thrown:
What You’ll Learn:
Primary emotions – Children will be able to learn how to emote depending on the appropriate situation when they take part in this activity.
Problem-solving – When your kids participate in this activity, they will be able to learn more than just matching emotions with one another. They will learn which emotion is to be expressed and in what situation to use which emotion.
Language development – As your children engage in this activity, they will be able to identify which emotion means what and in what situations they are to be used. Naming the emotions loudly will help enhance their vocabulary levels.
Memory skills: When your children participate in this activity, they will be able to learn how to remember what emoji needs to be matched with the one revealed upon throwing the dice. It will also improve their critical and logical thinking skills.
Environmental consciousness: As your children participate in this activity, reveal to them that the dice is made up of recycled material and explain the significance of the same to them. Thus, their environmental consciousness will get enhanced.
Material required:
Cardboard sheets: To prepare the different emoji cards and base sheet. Have at least three sheets ready.
Recycled cardboard dice with emojis: To throw it to reveal the individual emotions and match it individually with the emojis.
Emoji stickers: To be stuck to each emoji card in two parts (one for representing the mouth and the other for representing the eyes of the respective emoji cards).
Cutter: To cut out portions of the cardboard sheet for preparing the base and emoji cards for this activity.
Glue: To stick the base cardboard sheet cutout to the sheet that has been cut out in the shape of an apple with two slots (one below the other) for placing the cardboard cutouts with the stickers in them.
Colorful markers: To color the emoji cards
The procedure for preparing:
Prepare the activity sheets –
Take the first cardboard sheet and cut out just a part of it to form the base for this activity. Use the remaining parts of the same sheet to prepare the rest of the emoji cards. Similarly, cut the second cardboard sheet in the shape of an apple and cut two rectangular slots in it in such a way that they are placed one above the other. Cut the third cardboard sheet into more emoji cards (with each one representing a different emotional expression). Color the apple-shaped sheet red.
Encourage your children to participate –
Instruct your children to throw the dice and see what emotion it reveals. Ask them to match the emoji cards with the emotional expression that the dice is showing by inserting them into the rectangular slots on the cardboard base.
Review and repeat –
As your kids perform this activity, make sure that they repeat it several times till you are certain that they have mastered it well. Just make sure that they are doing it right.
This alphabet emoji dice game activity can transform how your children learn to emote. Learning how to express their emotions appropriately will no longer be a tedious task for them.
