Lego blocks are the easiest way to learn just about anything. Based on the number of cylindrical bumps (also known as studs) on each Lego puzzle block, your children can learn how to count and recognise numbers:

This activity is designed for young children from three years of age and above, as they can learn to recognise numbers through this exciting activity.
What You’ll Learn:
1. Math Skills – Upon the completion of this activity, children will be able to identify numbers and count better when they mark the numbers on each of the blocks with the markers. Upon fitting each block into the other together and adding the numbers written on each of them, children can enhance their mathematical abilities.
2. Number Recognition – If children are asked to write the number of studs on top of each block on the area below each stud and spell the number out loudly each time, they will learn to recognise numbers.
3. Fine Motor Skills – The moment kids enter the numbers on each of the Lego blocks, depending on the number of studs on them, their fine motor skills will have developed. Moreover, when children fit one block into another, their motor skills are further enhanced.
4. Positive Attitude – Upon completing this activity, children will be able to develop a positive attitude toward mathematics since they will be physically engaged in the learning activity.

Material Required:
1. Erasable Markers: To write numbers on the Lego blocks, based on the number of studs on top of each Lego block.
2. Lego Blocks: Have Lego puzzle blocks with different numbers of studs on each of them.
The Procedure for Preparing:
1. Prepare the playing LEGO puzzle blocks –
Keep as many Lego puzzle blocks as possible ready for playing and learning.
2. Encourage your children to participate –
Make sure that your children write the number of studs on top of each block with the markers on the sides of the blocks. Encourage them to fit together one or more blocks and write the new number on the sides of each block after adding the numbers to one another. The more your children participate in the activity, the better they will learn to recognise numbers.
3. Review and Repeat –
Each time your children perform the activity, make sure to review it before making them repeat the activity till they have mastered it.
Every time your children play with the Lego blocks, they will tend to learn new numbers. Make sure that you ask them to recognise the numbers, spell them out, and correct them each time they make a mistake. That way, kids will learn math skills through this wonderful activity.
